The Genesis In 1971, the Government of India initiated the concept of area development. The DPAP, i.e. the Drought Prone Area Programme was adopted for the purpose of implementing the concept. The development of rainfed areas on watershed basis was, however, adopted during the 7th five year plan (1987-1992). |
