Among the major tourist attractions, Tirupati has been the abode of Balaji in Chittoor district. It draws heavy crowds from all over the country and abroad, round the year. Hyderabad, the capital city of our state, is another major tourist attraction. With several historical monuments like the Charminar, Salarjung Museum, Golconda Fort etc., Hyderabad is a must for any tourist to the country or the state. Osmania University, the State Museum and Art Gallery, the Nehru Zoological Park, the Public Gardens, the Birla Mandir and the Mecca Masjid are the other favourite tourist spots in Hyderabad.

The Nagarjunasagar Dam and the vicinity attract a very large number of tourists. Yadagirigutta at Nalgonda, Vemulawada at Karimnagar and the Ramappa Temple and Thousand pillars temple at Warangal are also centres of tourist attraction.

There are many sacred groves (over 800) in our state. All of these have tourist potential, as they are extremely beautiful.

There are rocks too in most districts which have different shapes and sizes, almost creating a rhythmic effect in stone.

Caves like Burra Caves are interesting geological
