In our state we have rock formation whose origin could be traced to several thousand million years . We have very interesting formations which are not only beautiful but have also been found to nurse interesting flora and fauna. The hard granite rocks and the rocks called Gneissic inselbergs are important for the stability of the terrain where the landscape is unchanged for millions of years.

Basically the stones of our state are granites which are hard stones. Apart from granite, limestone and sandstones, quartz also can be seen in various parts of our state.
