The Bolarum CETP is treating the industrial effluents from 13 units with a capacity of 0.25 mld, but not up to the standards prescribed. Even the access to the Bolarum CETP is very difficult because of very poor condition of the approach roads. Only 20 - 30% of the effluent generated in the area is being sent to the CETP. The effluent after treatment is let out into their own land for evaporation. Since the efficiency of treatment is not upto the mark in view of high influent loading, the management has taken up a revamping programme, which is being implemented.
