A recent study conducted by the APPCB has come out with the total waste (clinical and non clinical) for 10 major hospitals in the city limits. As per Bureau of Indian Standards, (BIS), the quantity of solid waste generated can be between 1 and 2 kg per bed per day. (The waste generated per head in U.S hospitals is as high as 4 to 5 kg/bed).
