A Scientific Advisory Committee
has been constituted to provide guidance in the development
and management of the Environmental Information System (ENVIS)
Scheme
The Terms of Reference of the Committee
are :

Select Subject areas and identify
Institutions to set up ENVIS Centres.

Provide guidelines for
Inter-Institutional linkup and co-ordination.
-
To Monitor periodically the programs
of ENVIS activities.
-
Evaluate the ENVIS Schemes; etc.
The Committee has held several meetings so
far. The last meeting of the Advisory Committee held on 18th
September, 2002.
